"EMPTY POCKETS."

Tho picture exhibitors of America have formed themselves into a league to buy good -films. They sit in judgment under the name of the National Exhibitors' League, and every week thoy buy one special picture that thoy think is the best of all those produced. This is how it is that some pictures come here bearing- the naino " First National." " Empty Pockets " is a First National picture. It will bo .presented at the Octagon and King Edward Theatres on Saturday, and is a film Torsion of the action story " Empty Pockets," as written by Rupert Hughes. It is doubtful whether any picture has over kept tho paoo of its action up so long. It is doubtful also whether eueh an insoluble mystery has ever before been devised. The cast includes Ketty Galanta, Barbara. Castleton, Bert Lytell, and Malcolm Williams. The latter takes the role of a millionaire about town who has a special weakness for girls -with copper-coloured hair. Ho is foiind murdered, and five women, a.ll with red' hair, are implicated, Iwcause in the dead man's hand is found a knot of hair of that colour. The plot retains a remarkable clarity, in spite of complications and all sorts of cross currents which go to increase, tho mystification. The ending is very dramatic and unexpected. An exceedingly interesting love story runs through the whole tcxt-nro.
