Corporal A. H. Stobo, who ia reported to have died from sickness in Brockenhuist Hospital, England, wus the second son of Mrs J. K. Siobo and the late Kcv. A. H. Stobo, of First Church. Invercargill. Previous to eniisting in one of the early reinforcements he was on the staff of the National Bank, InYcrcargill. While iu 'i rentham he was stricken with illness, and he was eventually discharged as unfit for service. He then took employment with Messrs H. MacKeuzie and Sons at Walter Peak station, and the mountain air soon restored his health. Subsequently he re-enlisted and left with the Twenty-fifth Berniorcerucnts. He gained his stripes when in camp. After a good deal of fighting ir» Fraaice he was admitted to hospital suffering from pneumonia, and pleurisy, and after over a, mouth's, illness he succumbed on Tuesday, July 10. Corporal Stobo wus an enthusiastic rower, and. was a member of the Invercargill Rowing Club.—Southland Times. Ia a letter to Mrs M'DonaVd, late of Kilmog, Evansdalo, and now residing in M'Millau street, Roslyn, Mcsor Mitchell says: '"I deeply regret the io-se of your son Jim.
