The entries for the above society's annual festival will close on Saturday. " Entries may be made at the Bristol, Messrs C Begg and Co.'s, or at the secrctary's"offiec' Ihe festival promises to be a success, as already entries are coming in freelv Mr B Page (Wellington) will judge the musical selections. The committee found it impossible to obtain an elocution jud"-o from Australia owing to the uncertain shipping arrangements, and Messrs A. C. Han'lon and W. It. Brugh came to the rescue to "-et the society out of a difficulty, Mr Hanfon offering to _act as honorary" judge of the senior sections in elocution, while Mr Brugh will judge the junior sections. No doubt competitors and the public will appreciate the fact that the society lias secured the services of two such capable judges. Tim entries for the fife and drum band contest pronvsc to be larger than last year, arid the dancing section is expected to provide a largo entry.
