RED CROSS HOME

Work is being proceeded with apace in getting the now convalescent homo ready for patients, and it is hoped that the official opening will take place duri ig the third ■\\eok in Juno. Tlia-t week has been set ?' i e i ns Cross Week, and a very full and busy one for all the association's workers it should prove to be. The programme is as follows:—Official opening of tlio home, to which tlio public are invited, tne homo being thrown ojion for inspection : conference of Red Cross delegates from all over Otago to discuss all matters appertaining to this great work ; a big Red Cross "« i y ' Our Day " —in the streets, with the usual collection, stalls, and perhaps a procession. In addition, during the week a great Red Cross " drive" will be ina.ugurated. This will be quite new to Dunedin. Strong and influential committees will carry out the scheme, and extend it to all country districts. Numbers of Red Cross devices will be printed, in four different S,/o l' l m, hr 50,(1 at 2s 6(1 - ss, 10s, and 20s each, uhese are to bo piaecd in the windows of privato houses, and also sold for display in shops, offices, factories, etc. Hotelkeepers and boarding-houses will be asked to take a supply to be sold to their guests, to bo placed in their bedroom windows, ft is expected that tho schcmo will bo taken up enthusiastically bv the public, and that during '"Rod Cross Week ' few windows will bo without the 'well-known badge.
