He had just lett Mrs Peterson's house ;iiter having had '% tea, carrying a gun that he had used <iuring the afternoon. The report of a shot was ■¥ heard,_ and the Peterson family went out to " investigate. They reached Hunter in time • to hear him say "I'm shot," after which > he immediately expired. A man named William Marshall, who lives at Woodside, West Taieri, was admatted to the Hospital yesterday afternoon, • suffering from a fractured ankle. At the ji time of the accident ho was riding a horse, which stumbled and fell, throwing him to the ground and canising the injury men- '* tioned.
