Public interest in tho mucli-talked-of picture, "The Auction Block," is being well maintained, judging by tho attendances which nio being attracted to the Octagon IlaJl. Tho picturo, which takes closo on two hours to screen, is on© of the beet of its kind exhibited in Duncdin. The photography is excellent, and the settings are superb. It will bo screened this evening for tho last time. f l'' lo current programmo at Everybody's IhouAro had proved to be another nail in tho plank of success. The oliief picturo possesses ample merit to warrant it occupying tho position it does, and it ia very strongly supported, among tho supports being a further opisodo of "Lucille Love," a drama tliat has held tho interest oi patrons for many weeks. Ihoro will be the usual change of programme at the Errcpiro Theatro to-day, when tho new Metro, " Alias Mrs Je&sop," featuring Emily Stevens, will be. screened. J hero arc two leading characters in " Alias Mrs Jessop," a womanly woman, Janet 1)ord, and a worthless, "vampire" type, her cousin, Lillian Ford. Emily Stevens plays them both. Lillian marries Sir Anthony Jessop, noble in nature and name, oho shirks her responsibilities. By an odd circumstance, Janet is mistaken for her (they exactly resemble each other), and she is obliged to preside over the Jessop household as its mistress. All aro delighted at <« o- a S r o«Ujlo change that lias corno over . Sir Anthony's wife." Janet finds herself, in spite of anything she can do, falling in love with her cousin's husband. Tho situation is a dramatic one, and is handled with great skill in this screen version of Blair Hall's clever story. Brilliant sconce as said to aboimt in this Matro wondcr-play. Tho supporting pictures will include a now American Topical Gazette, a now Metro Drew comedy (" Tho Matchmakers"), and an interesting New Zealand scenic of Picturesque Akaroa." .Tho successful film production "Matermty ' will bo screened at Mosgiel to-mor-row .evening. Alice Brady is said to bo exquisite .is tho heroine, and her portrayal of the young wife -with a life problem of her own to solve, is very convincing. The story is delicately handled, and tho problem which it faces is troated with due respect. The supporting subects will include another episode of tho "Iron Claw" seiial, soencs in Russia, and a Gazette.
