Between her husband's neglect and his sister s cruelty Esther's life is made miserable. A now experience is encountered when young Dr Grey visits the house+l r+?i a , ™ the ohUdish ailments of the little boy. The two young- people become interested, in each other. Finallv. the doctor, not desiring to compromise Esther eaves for France as a member of the Ami bulance Corps. He writes to Esther, but the letter is intercepted by suspicions Ruth who shows it to her .brother. Martin's smcnilderniir jealousy breaks into flame, and i. -i VO wl rom the house. Meanwhile, Dirk Kanset, one 'of the farmers whom tho hypocritical Martin has ruined decides to ta.ko his revenge into his own hands, and kills him as ho is sitting in his library. Ruth suspicions of the police towards Esther, and a posse sets out m pursuit of her. TUnming along a steep mountain road, carrying lier child. Esther sees two farmhands in a wmgon, and baga a • • .TV? r,rivo , her „to a lonely shack, and in self-defence she shoots one of the men. Finally Kanset confesses hiß crime, Esther is vindicated, and Dr Grev returns homo wounded and makes her his wife Other interesting subjects are included in the programme.
