Particulars of the death of Captain Peter Lang, who was killed in the bush near Whangapo on Wednesday, have been received by the secretary of the Whangaoo limber company (Mr W. R. PaterswnY; Captajn Lang, together with the company's rafting contractor (Mr John Harrison], was watching the process of moviqg the loirs lrom the top of a ridgo 'to the itotokakahi iiiver, a distance of about 600 ft. Tb« lost log going down the iinprovioed chute otruck a , t s co ja stuu, P» 11,1 d, its courso being deviated, flew towards the 'two men. The heavy log struck and crushed Captain La,™ death being instantaneous.
