LONDON, January 20. Britain has informed Switzerland that the Government desires to reaffirm the treaties and declarations of 1815, and to assure the Swiss Government that, in conjunction with America and France, they will respect the integrity and neutrality of Switzerland as long as they are maintained by the Federal Government and respected by the enemies of Britain. RECRUITING IN AUSTRALIA. AT A VERY LOW EBB. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY, January 21. (Received Jan. 21, at 8.40 p.m.) Recruiting has reached a very low. ebb without any apparent move on ,the part of the Government to launch a new campaign. SWEDEN AND THE ALLIES. A SHIPPING AGREEMENT.

The Afton<bladet states that Sweden and the Allies have agreed that Sweden shall receive 100,000 tons of goods from America, conditional upon the ships returning to America for the Allies' use; also that all Swedish ships in British ports be placed at the Allies' disposal. Norway is considering a similar arrangement.
