INQUEST AT LAWRENCE

Mr 11. A. Young, S.M., held an inquest at Lawrence yesterday into tho death of Charles Thomson, aged 78 years, a wellknown miner, of Waitahuna Gully.

On December 17 tho deceased was riding a bicycle on the Waitahuna Gully road, when ho ran into a dog, and was thrown te tho road. Dr Sutherland (Lawrence* 1 was called in, and found that tho deceased's hip bono was broken. He was pent to the Lawrence Hospital, where he died on Thursday. Evidence was given by Dr Sutherland and Rhoderiek Shaw, who witnessed tho accident. Tho Coroner found that the deceased died from heart failure and congestion of the lungs, following on injuries received through accidentally falling from a bicycle.
