The Wcstlamd Racing Club's midsummer meeting was opened in perfect weather and in t.lio prcsonco of an attendance which ranks next, to that at the jubilee meeting. The ordinary early morning train fromi tho north brought u, crowd. Tho course was in pcrfect older, and there was good racing. The sum of .£6070 was put through the totalisator, as against £10,119 on tho first day last year, when there were eight races, as aguinst seven this year.
