HALIFAX BENEFIT CONCERT
The matinee to be held in the Princess Theatre this afternoon in aid of the sufferers in the recent Halifax disaster is expected to, attract a packed house. It is seldom the public have an opportunity of witnessing- such an interesting and varied programme as will be provided at the rnatinee this afternoon. By the kind permission of Messrs Fuller, their star artists are performing some of their choicest items. Maud Courtney and Mr C., the delightful American entertainers, will be heard in song and stories, Stanhope's Revues, original Grafters' Quartette,. Toni Ecea in song and stories, Verna Bain, the Australian Genee, and James Bain, original and.character comedian, and the charming English entertainers, . Mertton and Rydon, will pro"vido mirth, melody, and rapid fire comedy! Et will thus be seen that a most interesting programme will bo provided by Messrs Fullers,' company. In addition to these attractions, the Dunedin Philharmonic Society, the Dunedin Orchestral Society, and the Male Choir will bo hoard in some of their choicest selections. Vocal selections will be provided by Miss Violet ..Bartli, Messrs Arthur Alloo and James Paterson, whilst, the Princess Theatre orchestra, under the direction of Mr Fred Stokes, will also add to the entertainment It will th'us bo seen that 'patrons will have full value for their money. Messrs Fullers' artists will hold a procession through the city to-day between 12 noon and 2 p.m., and will give short entertainments at various points of vantage. Tho Otago Women's Patriotic Association is kindly arranging a sale of sweets, and will take up a street collection th-s morning in aid of the sufferei-s. The public ?s requested to note that th ; s entertainment will now be held in the Princess Treatre,. not* His Majesty's Theatre. Tho box plan is open at the Bristol, and day sales arc obtainable , at S. Jacobs.
