ELECTRICALLY-CONTROLLED VESSEL.
A COMPLETE FIASCO. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. # LONDON, November 6. It is authoritatively stated' that the elec-trically-controlled boat referred to in previous cables is a large petrol-driven surface torpedo-like vessel filled with explosives, paying out a thin wire connected with the shore, wherefrom it is controlled, wnilst aircraft con its movements. It was first used a fortnight ago, when it dashed at high speed into a neighbouring pier, wrecking the harbour works. It was next tried in the Channel, but was easily destroyed by British torpedo-boats. The third and fourth attempts were similarly a fiasco.
