Halford (24th Roinforcements), late of Caversham. HAWKES.-On October 12, killed while in action " Somowhcro in France," Richard Nevillo (3rd Reinforcements), the beloved elder son of R. N. and C. J. Hawkes, Wilson street, Timaru; in his 20th year. KELLEHER—On October 17, 1917, killed while in action in France, Private Denis Francis, dearly beloved youngest son of Timothy and Margaret Kclleher, Lawrence. R.I.P. M'ALLISTER.—On October 4, killed while in action " Somewhero in Franco," Privato Peter Gray M'Allister, second son of John and the lato Mary M'Allister, of Lower Shotover; aged 36 years. Deeply regretted. MELVILLE.—On November 5, at Foatherston Military Hospital (from cerebro-spinal meningitis), Donald (Don), 33rd Reinforcements, beloved youngest son of Catherino and the lato John Melville, of 171 Maitland street, Dunedin. PALATCHIE.-On October 12, killed while in action, Isaac, eldest son of A. Palatchio, Lawrence. R.I.P. ROSS. —On October 12, 1917, killed whilo in action " Somewhere in France," Sergeant Norman Grar ham Ros3 (Tim), son of the -late Hugh and Sarah Ross, Anderson Bay; aged 27 years. A good son. ROSS—On October 10, 1917, at 46th Stationary Hospital, Etaples, France, from pneumonia, Private William Ross, dearly beloved second son of the late William and Marion Ross, Warepa; in his 27th year. He gave his liio for his country.
