CANADIAN ELECTIONS.

SIR WILFRED LAURIER'S PLATFORM. CONSCRIPTION OF WEALTH NECESSARY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. OTTAWA, November 5. Sir Wilfrid Laurier has outlined the platform of tho Liberal party in the coming elections. He advocates a Military Service Act to carry out the expression of the majority's desire. He favours the conscription not only of soldiers, but of the wealth and the resources of Canada, ■which would otherwise be militarily exempt, thus enabling Canada to continue her splendid part in the war until tho end. Other items favoured by him are tariff reform, the removing of Customs increases imposed since the beginning of the war, drastic control of food supplies and prices, and the elimination of profiteering. Sir W. Laurier, in his election manifesto, said that the fundamental objection to the Military Service Act was that it does not conscript wealth, while it does conscript human life. If returned to power he would do his utmost to mobilise Canadian resources for war purposes.
