CITY POLICE COURT

Wednesday, Octobee 10. (Before Mr H. A. Young, S.M.) Drunkenness. —A first offender was fined 20s. in default 48 hours' imprisonment. By-law Cases.—William Ernest Hahnan, who drove a motor car on tho wrong side, was fined 10s and costs (7s). —A similar penalty was imposed on Frederick Tanner, who allowed his two horses to wander. —For similar breaches in respect of cattle James Hammond was fined 7s 6d, with costs (7s), whilo David Wilkie was ordered to pay costs only, amounting to 7s. Unregistered Dogs.—Fines of 15s each, with costs (7s), were imposed on Alexander Clydesdale, Jane M 'Donald, James Williams, Isabella Thompson, Rebecca Ritchie, and Gordon Pearson, while Joseph Gallagher was ordered to pay costs only f7s). Maintenance.—John Cecil Tipping' was made the subject of a maintenance order of 20s weekly towards his wife's support. Mr C. N. Scurr appeared for complainant.
