The final Band of Hope rally took plnco in the Church Hall on Friday night before a large attendance. A splendid programme ■was submitted and was much appreciated. At the meeting: a motion was moyed by hie Worship the Mayor (Mr T. S. Cairns), seconded by Mr W. Stephenson, and carried : " That the mooting protest ngainst the action of the Government in altering tho hour of closing; hotels from six o'clock to o'clock alter tho expressed desire of the people."

An alteration has been effected to the interior of tho local tWesleyan Church, where a new platform has been erected to aeoommodnto the choir, and also the removal of the pulpit to a corner of the church, which has added much to the effectiveness of the interior of the church. Tho ICaitangata Tonnis Club opened its season last Wot&raEday bffforo a larye atfeteadarico. There is ovory praspoct of a large number of now players this year.
