"BATTLE OF THE ANCRE."
One of the leading English papers, commenting on the exhibition of the kinematograph film, " The Battle of the Ancre," stated: " There is no programmo in London whieh gives so complete and vivid a description of the war." King George, after seeing the picturo privately at Windsor, said: "The public should see these pictures that they may havo some idea of what tho army js doing and what war means." The exhibition of theso films has been arranged by the Government, not with tho view of satisfying morbid curiosity, but in order that tho people should hove farced home upon them the truth about the conditions under which the' soldiers are fighting and the difficulties and hardships that they are enduring day by day in mud, cold, hunger, and privation, as well as the daily danger of death and suffering by shot and shell. The entiro net proceeds from the exhibition of these pictares, which will open at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday evening at 8 o'clock, are to go directly for the benefit of our fighting men in camp, trench, and hospital. A special matinee will bo given on Wednesday for school children. Tho box plan will open at tho Bristol this morning.
