ST. CLAIR SURF-BATHING CLUB.
In the course of the annual report of the St. Clair Lffe Saving and Surf Bathing Club, the commifctee states that the membership showed a> considerable increase, during the pjast year, the total number of members being now over 400. The financial position also showed a. gratifying improvement. The year started -with an overdraft of £105, and it wound up with a credit balance of £59. The only indebtedness of the club at present is a mortgage of £350, which ife is hoped toII be conelderably reduced this season. The surf bathing season passed over without any accident on tho St. C3air beach, and the life-saving branch of the club was not called on to effect any rescues. Tho usual practices were ield regularly. The remainder of the report deals with a number of matters of interest to dub members, and reports of the majority of these appeared in the press at the time. In conclusion, the Ladies' and Managing Committees express appreciation of the confidence reposed in them during the past season, and trust that the same spirit will be shown in the future.
