"THE WHIP."

A stage melodrama that ran for years in London has been picturised in "The Whip," to bo screened at the Octagon Theatre, commencing to-morrow afternoon. A real train, costing £5000, dashes into a standing car and smashes it into fragments. The hunting scenes are of real runs put up by one of the smartest of modern packs, and thousands of pounds' worth of horseflesh will be seen negotiating the jumps. Tho horse show, with its costly turn-outs, trotters and pacers, huge ringside, enclosures, and grand stands filled with beauty and fashion, is another realistic piece of artistry. The race scenes were only possible by ingenious arrangements of a great number of machines, one being carried on a fast motor, which ran just ahead of the finishing horses. There are special prices for tho evening sessions, but the matinees remain as usual. The Bristol plan is reported to bo filling up quickly.
