PERMITTING DRUNKENNESS

A MAGISTRATE'S CASTIGATION. (Peii United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 6. The. licensee of the Clarendon Hotel, William Anderson, who was charged to-day with permitting drunkenness on his premises was fined £20, and had his license endorsed. Mr Frazer, S.M., said that defendant had been convicted before, and he was satisfied that defendant was not a proper person to hold a license. It was his duty to report the matter to the Licensing Committee if defendant continued in charge of the hotel.
