TAIERI DRAINAGE BOARD

MessraJ T. Gibson (chairman), J. Mili ol ' , ,^ , A" Kem P 9 hell, and J. M'Neill attended tho monthly meeting of the Taieri Drainage Board on Monday. Most of the time of- the meeting was taken up with the consideration of damages arising out of the recent flood.

Mr William Bryant waited on the board and objected to a by-wash being made in tho new embankment to be erected at the big breaK at Otokia. He would, however not object to it provided other by-washes were made- in other portions of the eraDankment.

MrR Scott, M.P., wrote advising that hi; h.ul interviewed thp Prime Minister and tho Undor-secretary of the Department of Jjanda regarding repairs at the Waipori Kiyer, and that a conference between tbo I'rimo Minister, the Undersecretary Mr J. B. -Thompson (Government drainage engineer), and himself was to bo held shortly to decide what action is to bo taken in the matter.
