Baron Ishfi, in pxcisenting the Japanese Emperor's greetings to President Wilson, said he believed the co-operation of America and Japan in the war would lead to a much closer friendship. President Wilson, in replying, said that closer ties must be the result of tbe mutual sacrifice of life and property. He added: "May the efforts of indignant humanity lead at the proper time to the complete establishment of justice and a permanent and serene peace."
