The employees of the Ganz Company, the largest munition factory at Budapest, have struck for higher wages and better food facilities. Two thousand miners have also struck on similar grounds. Cable Association. MELBOURNE, August 24. Miss Adela Pankhurst, arrested at a women's pacifist demonstration, has been sentenced to one month's imprisonment. AUSTRALIANS FREE FROM DESERTERS. INCOME TAX ON ELIGIBLES. MELBOURNE, August 24. Senator Pearce announced in Parliament that since the Australian army has been in the field not a single case of desertion to the enemy has occurred. In the House of Representatives, Sir John Forrest, Treasurer, introduced the income tax on eligibles, outlined in the Budget. HEAVY RAIN IN ENGLAND. bROPS DAMAGED. LONDON, August 23.
