Tho Riso ond Shine No. 2 drodgo hod a moderately steady run last week, and got fairly good prospects at an averngo depth of 36ft on a soft rod clay bottom. The wash was very tight, with a number of heavy stones in it. For tho period ended August 11 tho WaihiPaeroa Gold Extraction Company treated 13,700 tons of tailings for a return of £4850. The company has now treated 771,600 tons, yielding £234,311. Tho total dividends to dato total £12,500. Tho master of tho Electric No. 2 d red go reports that tho dredge is now moored at tho bottom of tho present claim, and dredging operations aro expected to bo resumed on tho 14th inst. Tho river has fallen considerably, and tho weather has been cold and frosty. Tho Talisman Consolidated (Ltd.) have declared another dividend (tho sccond sinco tho formation of the present company) of Is per share. This will bo payable on September 18 next to all shareholders on tho register on August 23. Tho dividend will absorb £17,250, and bring tho total dividends nxid bonuses paid to shareholders sinco tho original reconstruction of the lato company to £1,081,971 17s 6d. (
