EFFICIENCY BOARD
QUESTION OP ITS RESIGNATION. (Fbom Oob Own Cobbespondehtl) WELLINGTON, August 2a The uncertainty of the position of Efficiency Board cannot yet be- completely;? cleared up. It appears that the letter of the board the Government which has been referred to Sr as the resignation of the board, was not* strictly speaking, ,a resignation. The ter stated, in effect, that the oommissioheisS were not satisfied with the reception their recommendations had had at the hands- oflS the Government, that they_ would go on'toK' finish the work they had in hand, and thai § afterwards they would have to consider, their position. jfi This was the _ letter on which the Primay'S Minister interviewed the' members of thejl board, and the result of the interview haa ?? already been announced; no was made. This means that it is extremely-;") probable that the commissioners will i resign as soon aa they oau conveniently so. . ' "^4 POINTED RESOLUTIONS PASSED Ht* OHRISTOHURCH.
