STRIKE IN SPAIN

The strike has assumed the character of a genera, movement -with a revolutionary tendency. The calling up of. tie reservists has been authorised in order to prepare for emergencies. Disturbances are reported at various points, but all is quiet in the capital. STRIKERS v. SOLDIERS. MANY PEOPLE WOUNDED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, August 14. Telegrams from Spain indicate that many people have been wounded in collisions between t2ie strikers and the soldiers at Madrid. TROUBLE IN BARCELONA. MADRID, August 14. (Received Aug. 15, at 5.5 p.m.) The streets are thronged with strikers, who had conflicts with the soldiers in the irincipal thoroughfares. In Madrid caim has been restored, but in Barcelona there is much trouble, and numerous arrests have been made in Saragossa.
