According to official information received, Herr Maximilian Harden wrote in the last issue of his paper, Die Zukunft that Alsace-Lorraine must be restored to France and the Tr-entino and Trieste to Italy, in order to eliminate future wars; and peace must be concluded on the basis of President _ Wilson's declaration of the rights of nations. EXHAUSTION OF BELLIGERENTS PREDICTED. ' GERMAN AIMS CONDEMNED. PEACE PROPOSALS URGED. GENEVA, August 10. , . Karlsruhe Volksfreund recognises that it is impossible for Germany to compel her enemies to pay indemnities or to surrender_ The continuation of the war, it says, •will lead to the complete exhaustion of all the nations. If, however, the result enabled their enemies to demand an indemnity and territory from them, it would be too terrible to contemplate. The Pan-German aims are the sheerest madness, leading to the inevitable rum of both conquered and conqueror. It is time the majority in the Reichstag urged peace by way of conciliation. It also demands tne evacuation of invaded countries, reparation for devastation and for the violation of The Hague conventions, and complete indemnification of Belgium and J-iuxemburg for the violation of neutrality.
