DRUIDISM.
The Royal Oak Lodge met on Monday night. A.D. Bro. Dickenson presided over a Targe attendance of members and visitors. Tho toasts of tho evening were "King and Druids," "Brothers at the Front," "Visiting Brothers." P.D.P.'s Bros. Ford (Lily of the Valley), P.D.P. Bro. J. Hudson (Royal Oak), P.A. Bro. Ockwell (Enterprise), P.A. Bro. Walker (Otago) responded to tho visitors' toast. After the business was disposed of the lodge adjourned for the purpose of entertaining the staff of Meesrs Herbert, Haynes. Tho A.D. gave tho victors a hearty welcome, and then proceeded with a game of cards, the visitors winning 17 games to 12. Refreshments and music were supplied. The Bay Lodge, U.A.0.D., held their fortnightly meeting in the Druids' Hall on Tuesday, July 31. P.A. Bro. J. P. Whitty presided in place of the Arch Druid, who is on tho sick list. There was a large attendance of officers and members, and P.D.P. Bro. Bryant, Secretary Bro. Dove, and V.A. Bro Brown, from Otago Lodge, was also present. A largo amount of correspondence was dealt with, including tho circular reoeived from Bro. Steel, secretary Otago United Friendly Societies' Council, re soldiers' benefits, which tho lodge was piensed to s<gn. Another brother of tho Bay Lodge nobly gave his life at tho front fighting for King and country. The lodge passed tho usual funerai allowanoe of £70 to be paid to his aged mother. Other accounts .and sick pay were passed for payment:. Tho usual soldier service was conducted. Several well-known visiting officers and TSay Lodge officers kindly gave a donation towards tno cost of a new respect board a free gift to the lodge, which was neatly made by P.A. Bro. W. Ross (Enterprise Lodge). The toasts were "King and Druids," "Absent Brothers at the Front," and "Visiting Officers and Brothers." V.A. Brown (Enterpriso Lodge) replied to the toasts.
