Mr James Gebbie has received cable advice that his son, Private Ernest Gebbie, who left Sydney with the Australian Imperial .Force, and who was wounded in March somewhere m France, has been discharged from hospital, and is now stationed at a aepot He left with an early contingent ?mc wa f m Jus first battle about July 19 1916. Ho was m the firing line up to the time of getting his wounds early, in March. PRIVATE RFJD. Mrs E. Reid, of No. 2 Marion street, Uiversnam, has received cabled advice that iier husband, Private John Reid, who had previously been reported as wounded, is now recovering. Private Reid left with the D Company of the Sixteenth Reinforo ments, and was wounded in the left thigh last month. He had been for 16 years with Messrs P. Hayman and Co., of this city and gave up his position to enlist voluntarily. He was a prominent worker in the Laversham Baptist Church, and at tho timo of his enlistment was superintendent of the fauuday School and secretary of the church His parents resicio at Fiteroy street, Caversham. Private Reid received his education at the Coversham School and at the Otago Boys' High School, where he was most successful. PRIVATE THOMPSON. Mr James Thompson, 3 Sheen street, Roslyn, has received cable advice that his youngest son, Vincent Alexander, who left with tho Thirteenth Reinforcements, has been reported missing since June 7. Ho was bom in Dunedin (February 5 being his twenty-first birthday), was educated at the Albany Street School, and was an upholsterer by trade, having been in the employ of Messrs Herbert, Haynes, and Co. He was connected with Knox Church, and •seas a member of the Knox Church Young Men's Bible Class. Four of his brothers have also joined the colours, one being' now in France, one on tho staff in England, one discharged, and one returned and died in Wellington.
