TEACHERS' WAR BONUS

NAPIER, June 18. Strong exception was taken at a meeting of the Teachers' Institute to the remarks made by a member of the Canterbury Education Board and to the resolution passed by tho same body in reference to the war bonus granted to teachers and other civil senrants last year, and the following resolution was passed unanimously:— "That tho Napier branch of the Teachers' Institute resents the reference by a member of tho Canterbury Education Board to the bonus granted last year to teachers as blood money, and takes exception to the resolution passed referring to the same considering that tho said board has no riVht to speak for tho general body of teachers "
