TO IDE EDITOB. Sie, —I am surprised that some of our leading business men have not backed up "Disappointed Shipper." Certainly le needs support, for he is bringing before the- public notice what is a scandal. No one seems inclined to dispute the facts, or else we should have seen a contradiction in your columns. It is not then, a disgrace that these things happen under our eye every day almost? Of course, we cannot expect the National Government to comt to the rescue, because it has enough to do in appointing appeal boards and commissions to enquire into almost everything in the country. It is a pity it does not appoint a commission of inquiry to determine whether Mr Massey and Sir Joseph Ward should not return to New Zealand at once Ji* IS ,cL? p . to " our business men to take tlio Snipping Space" scandal up and move heaven and earth till things are righted. JJcer before ploughs! The tiling is monstrous. _ But what else can we expect from the shipping companies, which are so steadily patronised by the brewers. This is not a question so much for the prohibitionists as it is for the business men. Hoping some more goodi will come of "Disappointed Shipper's" letter, and that you, Sir, will see your way clear to assist.—l am, etc... . Draper.
