GERMANS TRY TO REACH HOLLAND. ENCOUNTER BN THE DUNES. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, April 20. The Daily Chronicle's Amsterdam correspondent states that over 500 German fusiliers, sailors, and Landsturmers from Knocke tried to cross the frontier of Holland near Kadzand'on Monday night. The Germans at Bruges sent 200 Uhlans with machine guns to intercept the fugitives resulting in a half-hour's fight in the dunes near the fronner. Eight wounded men managed- to reach Holland. Many others on both sides were wounded. The remain-' ing deserters were scattered. 1
