LYTTELTON, April 21—Sailed: Breeze, for Port Chalmers. April 22. —Arrived: Patcena (1.20 p.m.), from Wellington., AKAROA, April 21.—Sailed: Hinemoa (11.30 a.m.), for southorn lighthouses. " .TIMARU, April 21.—Sailed: John (5.45 a.m.), for Dunedin. Tho Te Anon is timed to sail to-morrow •■■> $*.* Bluff, Oamaru, Napier. Gisborne, and Auckland. Tho Kowhai reached Lyttelton on Friday night. from Grcymouth, and was fixed to sail to-day for Dunedin. The Monowai is timed to leave Wellington to-day, and Lyttelton to-morrow, and is duo at_ this port on Wednesday. There is reported to be a shortage of aJiti-corrosivo ship's paint in Wellington, but it is understood that a shipment is on the way out from Home. Tho Kittawa arrived from Lyttelton last • night. Sho will sail to-morrow for Wellington, Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. Tho Corinna is duo hero to-night from Now Plymouth, and will sail to-morrow on the return voyage. The Breeze was due last night from northern ports, and is fixed to sail to-night for Timaru, Lyttelton, Picton, and Wanganui.
The Government steamer Hinemoa is due at Dunedin early to-morrow morning, and ■will load stores immediately for tho southern lighthouses. Tho coastal steamer John had a very jough passage of 24 hours from Wanganui to Wellington. She arrived here last night from Timaru, and is to sail to-night on the return voyago. . Recently it was announced by tho Northern Steamship Company, of Auckland, that owing to increase in the cost of running its steamers, on account of tho wax, it had become necessary to revise tho passenger and cargo rates. In pursuance of this announcement tho company has increased tho fares between Onchunga and New Plymouth as follow:—Saloon and single, now 30s in place of 265; return, now 50s in place of 455; steerage, single, now 22s 6d "in place of 20s; return, now 35s in place of 32s
