WAIHEMO COUNTY COUNCIL.
Tho YVaihemo County Council held its monthly meeting on Saturday; present —Ors M'La.y (chairman), M'Lcnnan, Maihieson, M'Callum, Pilbrow, M'Connoll, and Clark. Tlio Engineer reported that general maintenance work had been carried out in the county during the month.—Adopted. The Ranger reported that 18 cattle and six horses had been impounded during the month.—Adopted. Tho clerk submitted a statement, showing tliat tho total receipts for tho year wore £6534 13s lid, and tho expenditure £2458 19s Id, leaving a credit balance o£ £1075 14s lOd, and a net credit of £814 lis 3d, after deducting a debit of £261 3s 2d in existence at the beginning of the year. Tho riding balances lor tho year were:— Blue Mountains, cr. £17 14s 7d; Meadowbank, or. £105 12s 3d; Hushcy, cr. £284 13s lid; Dunback, cr. £235 10s lOd; Macraes, cr. £326 4s; Goodwood, dr. £37 9s 2d; Green Valley, dr. £284 Is Bd, leaving a total credit in tho riding account of £648 4s 9d. Tho Treasury Department forwarded vouchers for £65 Is, being goldfields revenue from December to March last.—Received. Mr W. Sutherland wrote stating that he hod been rated on a property which ho did not occupy.—The Clark said tho rates had been paid, and tho letter was received.
Accounts amounting: to £208 10s were passed for payment.
