BRITAIN'S FOOD PROBLEM.

(Received April 17, at 8.50 p.m.) The Press Bureau reports that Lord Devonport is taking over on the 30th all barley except home grown which is not kiln dried. He is also fixing maximum prices as follow :—Home-grown wheat 78s per quarter of 4801b; barley, except kiln dried, 65s per quarter of 4001b: oats 55s per quarter of 3121b. COST Cfo LIVING. (Received April 18, at 1.15 a.m.) It is officially estimated that English foodstuffs since the war have risen 94° per cent, and the general cost of living 65 ner cent. *
