MINING.

The gold production in Victoria for the week ended March 24 amounted to 16430z 4dwt. Tho principal producers were: — Hercules aad Energetic, 116dz 6dwt; Koch's Pioneer, llloz 19dwt: Lansells' Little No. ISO, G9oz 15dwt; Virginia, 86oz lldwt; Windmill Hill, 78oz 16dwt; Great Northern, 760z 9dwt; Johnson's Reef, 690z sdwt; Carlisle, 58oz I2trwt; New Red, White and Blue, 58oz 6dwt; Bendigo Dredge, 50oz lOdwt. The output of the Mount Lycll M. and R. Co. (Tasmania) for tho two four-weekly periods, ended respectively on February 14 and March 14, Tvas as follow, tho February figures being those in parentheses:—Ore treated 20,349 (18,103) tons,—viz., Mount Lyell ore 13,124 (11,592) tons; North Lyell ore. 7083 (6176) tons, aid concentrates, 142 (335) tons. Blister copper produced, 490 (423) tons, containing 484 (418) tons copper, 25.338 (22,180) oz silver, and 539 (470) oz gold. In the earlier period only two furnaces were in commission.
