MINING.

The master of the Electric No. 1 dredge in his report for last week states that the dredgo worked 111 hours for a distance of 10ft worked ahead. Tho paddock was being opened up, but at 10 p.m. on Friday one of the ladder hangers broke. This will mean a stoppage of at least a week or 10 days. Tho Rise and Shino No. 1 dredge found no improvement in tho conditions last week, the ground continuing very poor, and without any wash on tho bottom. The No. 2 dredgo worked a nairrower cut than usual, a strong current rendering it difficult to work tho eastern portion. The high river carried a largo quantity of material into tho out. Tho full face will bo worked this week..
