The secretary of the Nokomai Hydraulic blmcing Company reports that No. 2 had only three days' sluicing last week, as the dam became empty on Wednesday. It was lull again on Saturday morning and sluicing was resumed. A full week's sluicinir was done at No. 3, but the progress mado was slow, owing to the stony ground mot with. report of the supervisor of the Waihi Grand Junction states that tho shaft was down 1346£ ft at tho end of December The shaft was advancing on a lode consisting of quartz and boulders 12ft, but of poor value. At No. 8 level the lodo cut at 116 ft from tho jnain shaft assayed 12s 7d for a width of 58in. The Empire footwall lode aSS^ & 1 l f 01 n ' ?? , d m *ho <Wve east £1 6s for 58m m width. In No 7 rise assays were £2 12s Id for 47in.
