Mails close at the Chief Post Office as tinder: — TO-DAY (THURSDAY), DEC. 28. For Lyttelton and Christchurch, per Monowai, at 4 p.m. Late-feo letters 5 p.m. on steamer. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 30. Parcel mails for Expeditionary Forces abroad and for United Kingdom closo at -Chief Post Office at 4 p.m. MONDAY, JANUARY L For United Kingdom and Continent of Europe (specially addressed per direct steamer), at 6 a.m. TUESDAY, JANUARY 2. For' Exeditionaxy Forces abroad (letter mails only). North Express at 10 a.m. Latefee letter C.P.O. 10.20 a.m., and railway station 11.14 a.m. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 3. For, United Kingdom and Continent of Europe (due London February 4), Canada, United State 3of America, Central and South America, West Indies, etc., via San Francisco, and also for Raratonga and Tahiti, by North Express at 10 a.m. fee letters C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and railway station 11.14 a.m. For Australian States, Ceylon, India China, Japan, Egypt, and South Africa,' also for United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, due London February 14; (correspondence for the United Kingdom must bo specially addressed "Via Suez" to connect with Moeraki), by North Express at lO.am. Late-fee letters C.P.O. at 10 a.m., and railway station at 11.14 a.m. Money orders for places within the domion close one hour before advertised time of closing letter mails. Money orders for places beyond the dominion for despatch by the North or South Express close at 4 p.m. tho previous day. Registered mails closo ono hour before advertised time of closing ordinary mails. Book packets, commercial papers, and newspapers close half an hour before the advertised time of letter mails.
