Tho Rev. W. Mawson submitted a report of deputation work since October 1. He had held 39 meetings, mostly in the Clutha presbytery, and had received £50 lis Id in collections and donations ior the Canton Villages Mission. The secretary reported having received by post an advance consignment of Indian mission study test-books iroin New York. Owing to increase in the published price and in the cost of transit, it v, onlii ti;. , necessary to charge 3s 6d for tins cloth bound and 2s 6d for paper covered copies of "India Awakening" in order to make the books pay for themselves.—llia committee- resolved to sell at 2s 6d and Is 6d respectively, and to issue gratis with each copy a ""Study Programme." thus standing to lose froin £50 to £75 on the wholeorder.

Michelsen wrote from Tonga on October 26 that he had a very severe attack of fever, but had recovered, and expected to leave for Dunedin about November 23. The convener reported Having received a cablegram from Mr Michcisun at Norfolk Island, dated December 5: " Serious relapse; slightly improving." It was expected that t.iif "missions party, the Rev. O. Michclscn and the Rev. W. Milne with their families, would arrive in Sydney about the 11th inst, and in Wellington on the 18th.
