The Athenaeum Ilall at North Taieri was ■well filled last evening with an appreciative SLudience to hoar the programme presented at the annual school concert. The Rev. James Lymburn presided. The children gave a remarkably good account of themselves. Many of them possess very good voiccs, and their singing was quite a treat. Their marches and movements were neatly executed, and on more than one occasion the items had to be repeated. Included in the programme was a solo, " Pleaso Give Mo a Penny," with a special verso soliciting aid for our wounded soldiers. This was sung by a littlo girl named Nettie M'Lcan, and both pennies and silver were thrown from tho body o£ the hall in response to the young vocalist's entreaties. _ Miss Betty F'ndlay's song and recitation, "Dolly Dear," deserves special mention, while Miss Tui Milner's and Miss Mary M'Fadgen'e recitations were very good.
