LONDON, December 7. Hie Pall Mall Gazette states thata large company., is attempting to secure control of the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand.
A FOUNDATTONLESS RUMOUR. (Peb United Peess Association.) WELLINGTON, December 8. Sir James Mills, diairroan. of directors of the Union Steam Ship Company, questioned regarding the rumour mentioned in tho above cable, said : "I know nothing about it. There is no foundation for it yrhatever."
