The Kittawa will lea've hero to-day for Westport. The Poherua will sail to-day for Oamaru and Westport. The Waipori was expected to leave Greymouth yesterday with a caigo of timber for Sydney. The Invercargill sailed from hero yesterday morning, but turned back on reaching the Heads, owing to the heavy seas outbide. The Paloona is due at Bluff on Sunday night from Melbourne, and should rcacii Dunedin on Tuesday. She will sail again on Wednesday for L\ Helton, Wellington, and Melbourne. The Karu will complete her survey at Port Chalmers on Saturday. She will como up to town the same day, and will sail for Oamaru and New Plymouth. On her first visit to New Zealand under her new name the liner Port Nicholson (formerly the Makarmi) is due at Auckland almost immediately from Now York 'direct. She will arrive at Wellington about September 1. The New Zealand owned barque Antiope was towed from Hobart to Port Esperanco last week, to complete her cargo of timber for Dunedin. After discharge at this port she will proceed to Newcastle in ballast under charter to load coal for the West Coast of South America. The highest freight ever paid for a lumber caigo out of Boston will go to the owners of the Swedish barque Maorjland (says Sj dney Shipping List). She will cariy Uoo,oooft of lumber to Buenos Aires or Roiano at £9 per 1000, or £10, respectively. Before the -war the rate was about £1 per ICOO. _ , The Mararoa, on arrival in Wellington from Lvitelton on Saturday, will be withdrawn from the ferry service, and will come down to Port Chalmers in order to undergo overhaul.
