LOCAL AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP,

Tho billiard tourney that is now in progicss to determine the local amateur championship was continued last evening at Messrs Alcock and Co.'s showrooms. Tho competitors for the evening were Messrs R. Eraser and C. Andenson, and there was again a coasiderablo attendance of enthusiasts. Plaj was somewhat slower than on the previous oveniftg, but Eraser quickly gauged the strength of the table and forged slowly ahead. His lengthy experience of the game, and his all-round knowledge of it gavo him tho advantage, and ho won by 500 points to 317. Ills largest break was 37, but ho frequently scored breaks of betwocn 20 and 20. The highest figure Anderson reached in one effort was 30. The match set down for this evening is that between H. Simons and G. Walsh.
