(Pm Unitbo Phksr Association.) AUCKLAND, August 17. Robeit Carson, aged 52 years, a watersido worker, died to-day as tlio result of a razor wound, believed to havo been selfnifliiled. He had recently been despondent. CHIUSI CHURCH, August 17. \\\ Paieison, who wae lound ljing on tho railway line near Belfast on iSunduy, suflujng irom injuries, died in the hospital today. 'J lie deceased worked .it Beiiast as a carpenter. P. Kerr, a line-man on the Lake Coleridge electrical supply woiks, was elecuouited at Tai Tapu Daily Factory while working with an II,UUJ-\olt wire. At the inquest llie evidence showed that Kerr was working with a dead line some stt under a live cable carrying 11.000 -\olte. lie stood up, bringing Ins head into connection with the h\e wire. A verdict ot accidental denth was returned, and the coroner added a ruler that tho Public Woiks Depaitment should consider the possibility ot making some contrivance winch would minimise the danger for men who were working near live wires. Mr L. Bilks (Governmi nt electrical engineer) expressed the department's appreciation of the plucky act of Rolvrt .Jeal, a fellow-bne>man, in pulling Ken away irom the live wire. Jeal ran a considerable rit-k, and if the shock had not been such a c eveie ono ho would probably lnne saved Ken's life. ASIIBURTON, August 17. John Suffield, 75 years of age, while crossing the lailway line near tho railway sta-
tioii at 8.30 ihii morning-, was struck by n shuntiriq; engine and killed instantly. The deceased, who was very deaf, apparently did not heai tho engine coining.
