In Mew- of the projected Dutch Garden F.ur, which is being promoted by Mra C. P. M. Butterwoith, and will bo launched about tho sreond week in July, in aid of the funda of tho Otago Women's Patriotic Association, those willing to assist tho present band of energetic workers nro reminded that Monday and Wednesday afternoons of next and following weeks, from, 2 p.m., will be devolved to the making of flowers for tho garden. These comprise tulips, delphiniums, pobanthus, narcissi, hyacinths, and other varieties. To make tho garden a financial as ivell as a cpectacular success, the assistance of a small army of girls, with deft lingers, artistic taste, and willing hearts, is necessary. The weekly meetings in connection with this branch wero held on Thursday afternoon and evening. It is disappointing that moro ladies in tho district do not realise that it is their privilege, as well as a duty, to attend theso meetings sometimes, even if thoy cannot do so regularly. Tho committee acknowledges the receipt of donations from tho following ladies: Money for Patriotio Funds: Mrs Fleming £1, Mrs James Gray £1, Mrs Wallace Us 6d, Mrs Wakefield Holmes 3s. The St. Clair School children also sent in 73 articles made from materials supplied by tho branch. Special notice must bo made of two pairs of children's socks, beautifully knitted by Phyllis Piddington, and ofbutton bags made very nicely by Edith Crawford. The following ladies sent donations for the Dominion Gift Fund:— Miss Hopcraft, Mrs Wakefield Holmes, Miss Gladys Holmes, Mrs Petre, Mrs Blyth, Mrs Shiels (three balaclavas, one pair socks), Mrs Lillio (Belgian relief). A special appeal is made by tho committee for baiby clothes, now or old (provided l they are in good repair), to be sent to Portsmouth from this branch for the poor little childrep of tho gallant sailors who wero lost in the naval battle last week. ROSLYN-KAIKORAI BRANCH. The weekly meeting was held on Thursday afternoon, v. hen a fair number of vvoi kers attended, and a, considerable amount of material "was given out to bo made up. As the hinds of tho association have bene^ fitted to the extent of £156 throughthe recent jumble sale, it is proposed to increases the usual purchase of material for making up. so tho committee will be pleased to welcome additional workers desirous of helping with the equipment of our soldiers. In. connection with the jumble sale art union, the names of prize-winners arc advertised in this issue. Thanks are duo to the following for monetary donations:—Mr A. G. Socks, balaclava caps, and service bag.. for the rcinfoicements were packed and sent to the Eaily Settlers' Ball, also tho monthly donation of <socfcs and gifts for the dominion forces. Tho suin of £5 Is was paid over to the Women's Patriotic Funds. Tho pupils of tho _ Mornington School sent their "weekly donation of 1 pair of sock?, 10 face-cloths, 33 handkerchiefs, and 11 cakes of soap, and the ladies of tho Baptist Guild sent their week's work of 31 .soap bags. Quantities of bandages aro being <~skcd for at present for tho wounded eolditns and .sailors. This! affords a way for everjono to help, for bandages are easily made, and unbleached calico is cheap.
