The survivors of the Hampshire wreck suffered terrible experiences. When the rafts weie launched the sea was so heavy that it completely enveloped the Hampshire. The rafts came ashore five miles from the wreck. The first intimation the islanders had was from a seaman who, in an exhausted state, tottered to a farmhouse. He was incoherent. The farmer believed that a patrol boat had sunk. Later the full extent of the disaster became known. Ten of the 12 rescued men are now reeo\ering. Several rafts were flung into the crevasses on the rocky coast, and the task of recovering the dead is hazardous, the bodies having to be hoisted over the face of cliffs with ropes. COUNTRIES. (Received June 11. at 5.5 p.m.) The Wolff Press Bureau states that Herr Liebknecht has been charged with treason, and the military authorities will shortly pass sentence upon him. [Herr Liebknecht, one of the Socialist leaders, has for long bsen a thorn in the side of the Military Party, owing to his fearless criticism of the objects and conduct of the war.]
