A further buyer of this line came on the afternoon market at £2 lis 9d, with a seller asking £212 a 3d. Union Steams showed a tendency to weaken to a slight extent, and though they were com div. • •>■■■ there was no better buyer than one at £1 ; 12s, with a seller holding out for £1 13s 1 j 6d. Westport Coals and Westport-Stocktons' 'J both remained firm, and the preference < ' issue of the latter line was quoted at 10s 3d (buyer) and 10s 4d (seller).
