SEVENTEENTH REINFORCEMENTS.
MEN COMING FORWARD IN OTAGO. The District Headquarters report that the quota from the Otago district for tho Seventeenth Reinforcement is likely to bo secured. About 340 men are required, and already 225 have signed on. The Dunedin group, at all events, is practically certain to be quite full. This is a very satisfactory state of things, considering that a large draft left tho district only on Thursday. Of the total number of men available in the district 43 are prospective non-com-missioned officers.
The following table shows the number of non-commissioned officers and men available in the Otago district for the Seventeenth and future reinforcements: —

WELLINGTON, May 5. _ "Representatives of the Women's AntiGerman League waited on the Minister of Defence to-day, and urged that Lieutenant Grierson should not be allowed to go with the Twelfth Reinforcements.
